![]() There is a restaurant on site which is very, very good. The place is like a compound, I guess you'd say. But to be able to choose from so many buildings is really neat. The rooms have been updated so you have a modern bathroom and a comfortable bed. It is so cool to be able to sleep in such old buildings that were once used by the Shakers. There are many great things about this place. I am so glad I was able to experience Shaker Village. We cannot wait to come back! More Show less Another wonderful attribute about staying here was the onsite restaurant which had wonderful food that easily persuaded my husband and I to stay on the grounds for both our dinner and breakfast during our one night stay. Even the common areas were clean and updated with modern conveniences. The memory foam bed was very comfortable, and the sheets and comforter could compete with those adorning the bed at any high priced hotel chain and the view was delightful. Immediately, walking in from a humid July day, you could feel the a/c working fantastically and each room has its own temp control which really works! One nice surprise about the Old Stone Shop 3rd floor is that it has a foyer/hallway where you enter from the stairwell which separates one room with a queen bed and another room with a twin bed and a nicely updated but basic bathroom. This building preserved the historic nature while having the necessary updates (lots of plugs, a flat screen tv, wifi, nicely updated bathroom). My husband and I stayed at the Old Stone Shop on the third floor. Short Version: clean, a/c worked well, very comfortable bed, quiet atmosphere, modern conveniences, good rate, delicious food. ![]()
